After seeing it referenced around the web, both in those dark corners where things must be taken with a grain of salt and in those slightly less dim corners where things are at least netizen-reviewed, I set aside two hours last night to watch Carl Munck’s “The Code.”
The video itself is a presentation of the culmination of the research conducted by one man, Carl Munck, into what he believes is the geographic matrix found coded into ancient monuments around the world. While his mathematics are quite interesting – he appears to have quite a mind for numbers – his choice of locations and even numbers, in many cases, are almost entirely arbitrary, rendering most of his results useless in their intended sense.
On the other hand, The Code does help to open the discussion of whether or not the locations and dimensions of ancient sites are important in a regional sense with a scope beyond their immediate surroundings. There is, in my opinion, fairly strong evidence for much earlier and more extensive human migration than is currently accepted by many scientists, and the suggestion that those people may have used monuments to help mark locations on a worldwide grid isn’t entirely out of the question.
You can watch The Code for yourself below:
For a detailed look at Munck’s conclusions, take a look at this breakdown of the research at GreatDreams.com.
Disappointed with Carl Munck’s methodology, I’m off to find studies attempting to answer the same questions, but with more rigorous requirements. Any suggestions would be well appreciated!
It’s also worth noting that, despite my low opinion of Munck’s conclusions, I admire his work greatly; if only more of us used our spare time to conduct meaningful research to be shared with the world at large!
Ok. I also watched it a while back. He did some very interesting things with turning Phi into “root” if I remember his term he used for what he claimed to be the correct use of mathematics. I also agree he was quite impressive with numbers but some of his theories were exactly that theories.
Now. When it comes to locations of the Ancient Sites I don’t think anyone can explain that for sure without getting into ancient alien or ancient advanced civilization theory.
Here is were being as skeptical as possible I still get stumped. They ARE all aligned on a grid worldwide. They are also aligned to star constellations. The three Egyptian Pyramids exactly simulate the stars Delta Orionis [Mintaka], Epsilon [Alnilam], and Zeta [Alnitak] that comprise the Orion Belt.
They are by far some of the best built, longest lasting structures to date. blah, blah blah…. You can scrub through a ton of BS and find some verifiable truth that these sites are arranged in relation to each other and on the same longitudinal and latitudinal lines.
How is it possible for ancient civilizations to build such like structures (Pyramids) around the world on the same parallels? Perfectly aligned with constellations in the days of no telescopes?!
Me and my Wife were in Mexico and took a trip to Chichen Itza. The ancient Mayan ruins. There is a pyramid that has a snake head at the bottom of the stairs. During the summer solstice the stairs create a big snake coming down the entire pyramid from the solstice. They also had a sports arena where they played a game that ended with the winner chopping off the head of the losing teams captain….Geeez could you imagine being the captain for the Chicago Cubs in with those stakes. I would quit. Anyhow, This field was as big as a football field. It had huge stone walls still standing strong with most of the carvings still there. This place is not that old compared to Egypt. It dates to pre-600AD. I will wrap this up. When we went there the tour guide had one of us run down there and whisper. You could hear him clearly from at least 500 feet away. the place has perfect acoustics that still have not been figured out to this day after being studied by professionals.
How did these ancient and primitive civilizations do this?
Curious to see what your opinion.
Cheers,
DOC
Hi DOC! Thanks for taking the time to comment, and my apologies for the late response!
I agree with most everything that you have to say, and this is where I also get stumped. I’m skeptical in my view towards everything, especially areas such as this that are ripe for purposeful misinterpretation, but the numbers behind some of these structures, most notably the great pyramid at Giza, really are astounding.
I think at least some of the numbers embedded in the pyramid are the product of mere chance; measure a kitchen table from every angle imaginable and you’re sure to find something interesting result, but most of the numbers involved in the pyramid are simply too exact for me to dismiss as chance. I’m also of the mind that some of the similarities between worldwide sites are chance; given that, I’m not sure I buy into Munck’s grid theory.
Another interesting film on the subject is “Revelations of the Pyramids,” though it does feature much of the hype and hypothesis-as-truth that is expected of its genre. Still, an easy-to-watch film with an interesting look at many ancient sites.
Hi there guys if you are not aware all the calculations are only done from west or east of Giza which actually means that one can do the calculations from anywhere on the line going from pole to pole. Lets just say that each civilization had their own acquired knowledge of spherical trigonometry (which they did) then one can figure out the line from pole to pole and equator for themselves and build their own structures accordingly. While Egyptians were highly intelligent they did believe that their world was flat and that the Nile ran through the center of it. So we can only take so much from them. Carl Munck unfortunately does not have any actual constant in his equations and rather jumps from one place to another using different variables to complete his desired equation and unfortunately this not an actual fixed equation and thus is very wrong indeed. I do however believe in ancient contact between civilizations because of artifacts from around the world that have been excavated in the same area.
Hi Ryan – thanks for your input! I agree with you entirely; Munck has a head for fancy mathematics, but he does seem to lack a defining point to truly link all of these sites together.
Yes thank you, I am much younger than the man and i should not disrespect my elders but I study ancient history and archaeology and in some cases/ well most cases he is very wrong.. The Egyptians as well as the South Americans show in their scriptures and pictures how they were able to create such buildings using their own knowledge and their own people. I mean if the people who built it, explain how and why they did so, in their own language and symbols, who is Carl Munck to come along a few thousand years later and say “No, this is why you built it and this is correct!” Haha the most interesting i must say is the failed attempts, in the pyramids and even in the Nazca lines there are failed attempts where the half finished works have been left and a few kilometers away the final product is completed. For me this shows it was not made by aliens who had amazing technology just to get to Earth, but was rather made by humans who can except mistakes and start again.
